Mama Make Up

I have had a few people ask me recently about my daily make up routine and I thought I would share the basics. When I say the basics I mean the whole thing as my day to day is pretty damn basic.

I suffer a fair bit with hormonal acne so have been spending more time on skincare this last year and often going without my once beloved make up to let my skin breathe. During the day I use the RE9 Arbonne Serum and Day Moisturiser which have made such a difference to my skin.My daily make up when I do it is simple and quick, it needs to be easy to apply when I have my tiny terror hanging from me and the eldest asking 20 questions about breakfast.Currently I use the following products:

I apply my primer with my clean fingers, the foundation goes on with those too and then blended with a damp beauty blender type sponge ( I currently have this one from Real Techniques). My under eye concealer gets applied if I look knackered enough using the sponge too but I can’t always be bothered with it as it can get a bit creased looking as the day goes on. My bronze/blush is super easy as the Santa Barbara shade is the perfect mix of the two products for me and I dust that on with a huge fluffy brush (again from Real Techniques). If I have time then it’s on with a slick of liner in a nice cats eye flick, which I only recently mastered(!) and a coat of mascara.

Et voila…

My favourite weapon in the make up arsenal against tired Mum face is a colourful lippie, I have waaaay too many! I always feel a bright lip distracts from eye bags!Hope this helps/answers some questions you had you beautiful things!

I love seeing peoples daily make up, whether its full on glam or natural. Im actually looking at trying the Charlotte Tilbury light wonder foundation. Im after a product thats like a tinted moisturiser, but with a bit more coverage. Would you say that this is??

This definitely is more of a tinted moisturiser than a foundation. It’s pretty light coverage but you could build it if you wanted. I just feel it evens out my skin tone and gives me a bit of ‘something’ rather than totally bare. Not sure where you are based but I’d say order online from CT direct as you can get extra samples that way. X

Your makeup looks super pretty and everything is really well blended. I always use my fingers to blend foundation first as well, and then move on to brush or sponge. And I have a fluffy Real Techniques brush too 🙂

I love the final look, it really suits you and it doesn’t look much but it’s still put together. xx

Flawless! I need to get some of the catliner and foundation! It looks like it gives you a dewy look and I LOVE that!
