It’s hardly a secret that this Mama loves a good blow…minds out the gutter you filthy lot…I’m talking hair here! Mind you some people would say finding the perfect hairdresser is as elusive as a certain sexual hot spot. I am incredibly fortunate to have found myself the most colourful and evolving salon around in the fabulous #Blow.
There are two branches of #Blow – the original in Finnieston and my local in Shawlands. Both are bright, crisp and clean with pops of rainbow colour, the aesthetic perfectly matching the styles of hair that #Blow is best known for. Since my first visit several years ago, I have come to know and love the team of amazing women here, led Fallon Carberry (Creative Director). The ethos of #Blow is to be at the forefront of creative styles and techniques. So for a hair chameleon like myself they always have the freshest ideas for my locks.
My Latest Blow-formation
I have spoken before about the absolute need for self care (check out the post here) and for me, spending a few hours having my hair transformed whilst sipping a cocktail, nibbling popcorn and getting the latest gossip is the ultimate relaxation. Recently things have been pretty stressful in the Mama Says… household, so I booked myself in and gave Fal free reign with my long lavender hair.
I went in looking like the slightly more dishevelled version of the above picture, and left with a dramatic makeover! We cropped several inches off, giving me a sassy, blunt bob, and ridding me of my post natal straggly ends. On a whim we went with a custom blended frosted mint shade, quite the leap from my usual pinks and purples but a welcome change.
Due to the fact that my hair was quite fragile and thin, Fal decided to add some additional colour and volume. She did this with their latest offering – tape in extensions! These are a super affordable way to give you some extra volume or creative colour without having to dye your hair. The high quality tape ins offered at #Blow are reusable for up to a year, lasting 3-6 weeks per application (of course dependant on how kind you are to them!) and can be reapplied 3 or 4 times. At only £10 a strip they really are great value for money in comparison to traditional bonded extensions.
I have had these in for a few weeks now and I am loving my super thick, swishy locks! The aftercare is easy as pie, it really is just treating them kindly and keeping my hair well hydrated. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a little extra va va voom for their hair!
I highly recommend you go get Blown too babes!
